Years in practice

Painting the texture of memory and place

I am a Ghanaian-British painter working primarily in oil and mixed media. My practice sits at the intersection of landscape, heritage, and the material culture of West African daily life.

I trained at the Slade School of Fine Art and have exhibited at the Kempinski Gallery in Accra, the Tate Exchange in London, and the Lagos Art Fair. My work is held in private collections across three continents.

ArtPortal is where I share new work, writing, and commissions directly with collectors and followers — without intermediaries.

What clients say about working with Alice

From collectors and collaborators across the globe — honest words from people who have commissioned, collected, or exhibited her work.

Alice created a large-format oil piece for my client's living room. The depth of colour and the way she interpreted the brief was extraordinary — it became the centrepiece of the entire space.

I've commissioned three pieces now. Each time Alice brings something unexpected — a texture, a colour choice — that makes the work feel alive. Her process is collaborative and her communication is impeccable.

We featured Alice's mixed media series in our spring exhibition. The response from visitors was unlike anything we'd seen — people stood in front of her pieces for minutes at a time. A genuinely rare talent.

The mural Alice painted for our studio lobby transformed the entire atmosphere. She worked within tight constraints — scale, palette, timeline — and delivered something that exceeded every expectation.

Alice's digital illustrations for our brand campaign were stunning. She understood the cultural nuance we needed immediately — no lengthy back-and-forth. The final work was both modern and deeply rooted.

I found Alice through ArtPortal and reached out about a limited print. She was warm, professional, and the print arrived beautifully packaged with a handwritten note. I've since bought two originals.

On Painting the Harmattan

The harmattan season taught me that dust is not an absence of light but its transformation. Here is how I tried to capture that quality in oil.
