1. Introduction
If you're a fan of animation, you're in for a treat. There are several great shows currently streaming on Netflix. But today let's talk about the Can't Miss Netflix Shows on the All-time Best Animation - Anne with an E.
2. What is this show about?
Before the live-action series took Netflix by storm, an animated version was released 30 years ago. Isao Takahata's Akage no An 1979 (Anne of Green Gables, Red-haired Anne) though less common, has set a standard for hand-drawn animation. Beloved for its creative art style, strong characters, and thrilling stories, the anime explores themes of identity, family, friendship, and love based on the novel of the Canadian writer Lucy Maud. Anne with an E is a coming-of-age tale of a 13-year-old imaginative, spirited and talkative orphan with an awful upbringing. Anne Shirley was adopted and raised by elderly siblings - the spinster Marilla and her soft-spoken bachelor brother Matthew. She then embarks on a journey to seek for love, acceptance, and her place in the world.
3. Why is this show so special ? Who is in the cast?
I discovered just twenty years later, after first seeing the series in elementary school, that Takahata Isao directed the anime. He is such an endless source of inspiration for all generations. The live-action characters' outlook of Netflix is up to 98% identical to his anime, except for Diana and Jerry. Look at the comparison pictures and be dazed.

4. What has the reception been like?
Anne with an E has been critically acclaimed for its story, character development, and animation. It won Canadian Screen Award for Best Dramatic Series in both 2017 and 2018. This inspiring and uplifting show is packed with action sequences, powerful messages of female empowerment, and heartwarming stories. The film is a must-watch if you're an animation lover.
